Hi. I was very happy to fid your site - I have questions about patient lifts.

My husband has fairly advanced ALS, and now cannot transfer from his motorized wheelchair or hospital bed or get off the floor without a great deal of assistance. I've had to call 911 when he falls during transfers. Showering and toileting are especially scary. My husband weighs 190 pounds. I am small (120 pounds) and I have a bad back, which doesn't help! I am not sure I can manage the traditional hoyer lift on my own. Each day is more challenging than the day before. He relies on me, and I'm not that strong.

We have heard great things about the Molift Smart 150. Does your company bill insurance for your lifts? We have a Cigna PPO with the highest level DME coverage offered. It is possible that the actual coverage would be limited to the cost of a manual hoyer type lift, but every bit the insurance would contribute toward the product would help. We have a prescription from my husband's neurologist. We are interested in a Molift Smart 150 plus sling and whatever other accessories are necessary.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Lois,

Here is a link to the 4000 products we currently carry, http://www.livewellmedical.com/index.php?main_page=index&manufacturers_id=112.

We do not have detailed installation instructions, as they vary depending on the wall backing.

Hope this help.

The expandable door hinge is a great tip. One thing that we advise is to have customers measure bedroom and bathroom spaces as well as door widths prior to purchasing products.

Sometimes spaces are just too tight to navigate with adaptive aids and mobility products. This is particularly true of items; like shower chairs, bath benches and rails.

Thanks for the tip.

Re: MAP - some manufacturers have contractural obligations to sell their products to the contracting party at the lowest available price. If this entity later discovers that you have sold the smae product at a price that is even lower, in the public marketplace, the manufacturer could be found in violationn of the legally binding agreement. They could face severe penalyies up to and including fines, contract cancelation (meaning loss of an often major source of orders and revenue), incarceration for the responsible individual principles, and loss of a once good reputaion (when publicly declared a fraud, felon, cheat and criminal).

Keep this in mind when you invite customers to request illegal discounts. Also, when you bash brick and morter establishments that are local and service their clients, while charging a (oh-my- gosh!) fair price for their service.
